Review: Somang Danahan RG11 Premium Ex Deep Wrinkle Line Cream (Angry Post!)

Remember my previous MIVVA Mother's Day Edition review?

Apparently, I wanted to try this sample sachets last night but coincidentally, my mum saw this sample sachets and she wanted to try them and so, I gave her all 3 sachets to let her try; since she has wrinkles and anti-aging stuff.

My mum was excited and she tried last night before she goes to sleep.

Let me show you why I'm pissed about this product.
Here's my mum's before picture; usual her - pretty and looking young like usual.
But she does have some wrinkles on her eyes and aging line on her cheek.

Until this morning; she woke up super depressed and shocked. She literally, screamed once she saw her face like this!!
During that time, I was utterly shocked and apparently, she told me that last night; she felt her face really pain and itchy at the same time and she kept scratching throughout the night and she didn't really care when she's sleeping.

Her eyes were so swollen that I barely see her double eyelids. Her face was so round like an orange and she felt like a balloon.

I'm very pissed and felt really really guilty at the same time because I don't know how to help my mum to solve her problem and I gave her that sample sachets. Right now, I'm still worried about her condition and shivering at the same time. She's the only person I truly loved.

I just called her an minute ago while she's working and asked how's her facial condition and she answered the same answer that I asked her this morning.

I really don't know what to do, so I asked you guys or any beauty bloggers out there to give some advise OR any other MIVVA subscribers who had tried this cream.

So, who should I confront?
Is it MIVVA's fault or some Korean company should be fully responsible?

Please comment down below what should I do? :"(

  1. you should tell mivva abt this, then bring ur mom to see the doctor if it's any allergic reaction to that product. i used it a little on my laughing line, but i didnt have such issue.

    1. I will bring her to see the doctor maybe by tonight. T-T I seriously wanted to cry to see her condition like this.

  2. I gave this to my mum to try too, but I don't think she's used it yet.
I'd say to let Mivva know about your mum's skin reaction to the product, and also to bring her to a skin doctor if the symptoms still persist. >__<

    1. Omg, better don't use it first. I will bring her to see the doctor as soon as possible. Thanks for your concern Laura! T-T

  3. OMG.......... the ONE thing that I really scared of getting an irritation due to beauty products :(

I am so sorry for your mum, I guess it should be the responsibility of the products manufacture.

Is there any products info? Did your mum have any history or allergies?

    1. They just said about whitening and anti-aging, nothing much.
My mom doesn't have any allergies and this is her very first time she encountered this major problem.

  4. It seems your mom is allergic to a particular ingredient/s in it.

Contact Mivva about it and ask what to do. I don't know if you can file a complaint because reacts to ingredients in products are a case to case basis and the company can say that they can't do anything because it works fine for other people.

At the same time, bring her to the doctor or even better, a dermatologist, to see what the real problem is and how to treat it.

I had a problem with an organic soap once that was meant to treat acne. It was either I had an allergic reaction to an ingredient/s in it or it was simply too strong for me (ironic because it's meant to be organic) because the next day my cheeks were super red and sore, as if I just got a really bad sunburn. I couldn't even put moisturizer on it because it would sting! It lasted almost a week and I didn't leave the house, so I kept reapplying ointment on the affected areas and it helped gradually.

  5. Hey Angeline, I'm so sorry to hear what happen! I pray your mom's condition will get better. I have not tried the cream yet, I was thinking of giving it to my mom but now I'm not so sure :( I don't know if this can help, but I read this post from Fiona and how she "treated" her allergies to Garnier BB Cream. I think if your mom's skin care routine is still ok to use then maybe she doesn't have to change it. Whatever it is, it's still best to bring to the doctor.

  6. OMG dear I'm so sorry for you. Do inform MIVVA so they can pass it along to the company, and if possible deal with the company directly too.

And please, take her to see the doctor.

  7. Hi dear, this could be an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients. It is possible that your mum is allergic as many other members or mothers of members have used the product with no negative reaction, I'm really sorry that I can't help further because I do not know what she is allergic to. We have alerted Somang about this, and they will get back to us ASAP. In the meantime, we suggest that your mum visits a doctor and find out what she is allergic to ASAP. I do apologise for the inconvenience caused, and hope your mum gets well soon.

  8. You should contact MIVVA immediately and bring your mother to visit the nearest skin doctor. She's probably allergic to one/several of the ingredients in the sample sachets that causes her face to be swollen and irritated. Make sure you or your mother specifically ask the skin doctor on what is the ingredient that your mother is allergic at so she can be extra cautious on any other products she buys/uses in the future.

Hope your mother get wells soon enough :)

  9. Uh-oh, looks like allergic reaction. I'm taking its not a serious one. Give you recommendations in your FB message d. Take care of your mummy la.

  10. I suppose it is an allergic reaction. From the photo, i think i suppose it is still in local allergic.
I think there is some ingredient in the product that your mother is allergic to.
So please bring her to see a doctor, hopefully can go to a dermatologist and get a patch test done to identify the allergen...

Hope your mom recover as soon as possible! my regards!

  11. I gave her all 3 sachets to let her try; Wrinkle Cream since she has wrinkles and anti-aging stuff.

  12. Is it due to the specific ingredient inside the product, or the combination of the cream with other products, that caused this reaction? I used this cream in winter, in fact, all over my face, although I know that it is meant only for the drier areas, and I never experienced any reaction. The active ingredient of this cream is RG-II, a red ginseng derivative which is meant to enhance skin cell metabolism and turnover, but I suspect that some sensitive skins cannot really adapt to the potency of the ingredients. I would not blame it on the company per se, since they often give out samples prior to selling the product, and plus, most Korean cosmetic companies do actually conduct dermatologist testing prior to launching their products. What you should do though is to find the dermatologist as soon as possible, and ask him or her to ascertain what kind of ingredients your mother is sensitive to. If your mother reacted to something inside the cream, it is very likely that when she switches to some other products with similar or the exact ingredient, or combination of them, she will re-encounter the same problem again, so it is best to check with a dermatologist. The dermatologist will conduct some test probably to find this out, but it will help your mother a lot.

  13. I am American and was recently given a sample of RG II from a skin care shop in China Town, Las Vegas. Despite the fact that the samples indicate that they are 'hydrating essence', I noticed drying Nd tightening of the skin by the next day. Indicative of an exfoliating process. Not hydration. Nevertheless, after the exfoliating process, I have noticed a remarkable improvement in my skin. My fine lines have diminished considerably! I am so amazed by the almost instant improvement that I came online to try to find full size products!
As for your mother, she likely has thin, sensitive skin and mY have also already been using products with exfoliating properties. There is such a thing as too much exfoliation.
By the way, I am a licensed Medical Aesthetician. I was in Las Vegas for a skin care conference and symposium.
